Ali Wentworth put her better half, George Stephanopoulos, on blast in a recent interview for downplaying his initial enthusiasm for her.
Ali, 55, and George, 59, have been married since 2001. On May 13, the "Good Morning America" co-host appeared on "The Howard Stern Show," where he recalled his first date with the famous comedian.
"I think I did ask her to dinner and she downgraded it to lunch," George recalled, as reported by US Weekly. "I think we both knew within, if not that lunch, within a couple days."

Ali immediately stepped in to call out her husband for acting as though the occasion was a low-key affair for him.
"I'm just curious why my husband downplayed our first date," she said. "George, if you recall, I was very reluctant to go on a date with you. You were like a pitbull with a chew toy when it came to me."
Ali likewise conceded that George wasn't her usual standard. The comedian then revealed she didn't foresee that their relationship should go past a first date.

As reported by US Weekly, Ali and George initially met in April 2001 after a companion told her they would be a solid match. Ali inevitably consented to an arranged meeting with George in spite of her real reservations.
On April 1, Ali announced on social media that she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease.
The couple got engaged two months after going on their first date. In November 2001, they got married in New York City. They are now the doting parents of two children — daughters Elliott, 17, and Harper, 14.
In 2017, Ali revealed that she has focused on an early bird schedule for the bed to ensure she could rest with her husband. George's job demands him to wake up at 2:30 each morning.
During an April 2018 appearance on "Good Morning America," Ali shared that "humor" is the thing that makes their marriage work. She added that she thinks they are hot for one another.
On April 1, Ali announced on social media that she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease. According to her, she has never been more debilitated, US Weekly reported.
