Best known for her six-year-stint as sardonic lawyer Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon was born on April 9, 1966, in New York. The glam red-head has conquered every avenue of acting, including films, TV shows and theater — she even won a Tony Award for her role in the Broadway drama Rabbit Hole in 2006.
Nixon – who reprised her famed TV role as Miranda Hobbes in the movie adaptation of Sex and the City in 2008 – has two children, Samantha and Charles, with English professor Danny Mozes. The two never married, but maintained a relationship from 1988 to 2003.
In September 2004, Nixon’s homosexuality became public when she began dating activist Christine Mariononi. Nixon announced her engagement to Mariononi in May 2009. They married in 2012.
