A Saudi Arabia fan hilariously pulled a door off its hinges during wild celebrations sparked by the stunning 2-1 victory over Argentina.

The Group C outsiders caused one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history when they came from a goal down to see off an Argentina side tipped as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.

It was just what the tournament needed after a number of high-profile controversies had clouded the tournament during its opening stages.

Goals from Saleh Alshehri and Salem Aldawsari turned the game on its head early in the second half after Lionel Messi had fired the South American’s in front from the penalty spot.

Aldawsari’s superb winner sparked joyous scenes around the Lusail Stadium and the jubilation was replicated in the home of one set of Saudi fans.

Footage showed the group of fans erupting as Saudi Arabia took the lead with many jumping up and down in delirium.

But one fan took his celebration to an entirely different level by pulling a door off its hinges before carrying it outside and throwing it to the ground.

He then goes back into the house to hug another fan with no care at all for the damage he had inflicted.

To rub further salt into Argentine wounds, some fans could be heard shouting " Siuuuuu" - in reference to Cristiano Ronaldo's signature goal celebration - as they left the stadium in Qatar.

It was a day to remember for Saudi Arabia who have declared a national holiday on Wednesday to mark the stunning result.

They now have a fantastic opportunity to qualify from their group too.

Herve Renard’s side face Poland on Saturday before they finish up with a clash against Mexico next week.

Confidence will be high amongst the Saudi squad and it remains to be seen if they can repeat their heroics against Messi and Co, when they take on Robert Lewandowski’s Poland.
